Chaffinch Textile Arts for Health And Wellbeing

My name is Sophia Spink, I am an arts facilitator and community textiles artist based in Wiltshire.

At Chaffinch Textiles Arts I use art as a pathway to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities through engagement with collage, drawing fabric and stitch.

My Workshops

My workshops explore how to be more connected with ourselves, our communities and the natural world around us, through creative engaging in art.

I show participants how reflective stitch practices can increase focus, improve self-regulation, help to process emotions to support wellbeing.

Communal stitch projects are a collaborative process that builds connection, self-confidence and encourages teamwork. Focus is on learning and improving skills but also on embracing Imperfection.

I encourage a participant lead practice, so that participants can take ownership of their projects. By sharing skills, telling stories and learning from each other they build confidence, deepen experiences and gain agency.

I am able to deliver workshops to a wide range of groups within the community including public organisations such as schools, charities, as well as private clients.

Each project is tailored to the needs of each individual group or organisation I am working with. All materials are provided.

As much as possible I like to use recycled fabrics which are more environmentally friendly and cost effective.

Sessions are 2-5 hours and 6 sessions are recommended for each project.
