About Me - Sophia Spink

I worked in theatre and film for 25 years as an assistant costume designer and costumier. Through this work I gained a love of world textiles and embroidery traditions and I’m passionate about how fabrics have been used for thousands of years as a way of communication.

My practice is primarily working with fabric and stitch as well as printmaking and collage.

I am inspired by the natural world, culture, art history and storytelling.

In 2025 I completed an MA in Arts, Health and Wellbeing at the University of South Wales, in Cardiff.
